Are disperse dyes acidic or alkaline? For this problem, many friends who have not worked for a long time are not very clear. Disperse dyes are one of the most used dyes in the textile industry. As employees, they naturally need to have an in-depth understanding of them. Today, let's share with you whether disperse dyes are acidic or alkaline.

Disperse dyes belong to high-temperature and high-pressure dyes, which are carried out on high-temperature and high-pressure jigger, jet and overflow dyeing machine. They are suitable for dyeing deep and thick color. The dyeing pH value is generally controlled at 5 ~ 6. Acetic acid and ammonium dihydrogen phosphate are commonly used to adjust the pH value. In order to keep the dyeing bath stable, dispersant and high-temperature leveling agent need to be added during dyeing. Disperse dyes are generally acidic.

The molecules of disperse dyes are relatively small, and there are no water-soluble groups in the structure. When using disperse dyes for dyeing, it is necessary to use dispersants, so that the disperse dyes can be more evenly dispersed in the dye solution, and the dyed cloth will be uniform. If dispersants are not used, it is impossible to dye fibers such as polyester.

Moreover, because disperse dyes are insoluble in water, they do not have the ability to dye cotton, wool, silk and hemp in natural fibers, and almost do not stain viscose fibers. In the process of dyeing, other applicable dyes and additives need to be added.
